Lumbar fracture on x-ray
Female, 30 years old, fall from a height, fracture L1, compressed.
can she move ?
Radiology And Nuclear Medicine
Yes I think she can move, she has a posterior protrusion of posterior wall but there are no fragmnets inside canal. There is also a fracture of the left posterior arch, in good position
Yes she can move, with agony and pain
And yes ,no fragments inside the spinal canal
In addition to the fracture patient has Schmorl nodes ( scheuermann disease ?)
Radiology And Nuclear Medicine Resident
Not all Schmorl nodes relate to Scheuermann's... for that you'd want to see more wedging of adjacent vertebrae and more overall kyphosis (other than relating to the fracture).
You are right I am not spine specialist but I was discussing in the aim to learn🙂
Orthopedic Surgery Resident
She needs a MRI, to revaluate the disc.
