53 yo female woke up one morning with pain on dorsum of right foot. She works part time in daycare. She can not recall any injury. The pain is located over the second cuneiform. X-ray show oblique fx. How would you treat?
I know I don't have digital x-ray so I can't see fx on these but on the original it is there.
Need better quality X-Ray Photo
I also don't see any obvious fracture on the provided films. Midfoot fracture without trauma seems unlikely. Treat symptomatically.
Works in daycare...Likely culprit... Lego, Hot wheel, Ect...no fractures yet still hurt like hell!
I don't see any fx as well. Symptoms may be secondary to deep peroneal nerve entrapment. May consider doing a block around the symptomatic area to see if relief is noted. If so, consider doing Deep peroneal nerve release.
