Acute myocardial injury on EKG
EMS reaponds to a private residence for an approx 85-year-old male complains of CP. Pain started last night at 19:00, got worse at 02:00. Time is now 08:00. Patient was discharged last night from the hoapital following aortic valve replacement. He takes only lipitor and lisinopril, both new following the surgery. Pain is 8/10, substernal pressure nonradiating. Initial EKG does not read AMI. Paramedic consulted medical control who couldn't determin STEMI either. Patient transported lights and sirent to STEMI receiving center. A second EKG read AMI and patient was activated by MD.
