Septic shock patient foot MRI

OlyD
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

This patient came in in septic shock. She was homeless, could not afford prescribed antibiotics or insulin, and had been trying to pack her diabetic foot wound at home with gauze and rinsing it with water. Her Hgb A1C on admission was 14.1, but had been as high as 17 in the past. She was started on IV antibiotics, and this MRI was taken to evaluate for possible osteomyelitis. Now s/p below knee amputation, doing well.
